Hello again Reynold -
I've been thinking since your last e-mail. As you know, I am interested in
obtaining very nice, high-grade copies and you told me that you send your
best 9.8 and higher books to CGC, totally understandable. However, you have
a lot of comics I need to complete runs and fill in gaps in my collection.
So what I thought I would do is order a couple of issues and see how I like
them. If I'm happy, I'll order more, if not, no big loss.
I would like to order Micronauts #3 and #4 and Raiders of the Lost Ark #2
and #3. I would like the best condition possible, no lower than 9.4, if
possible 9.6. Please send me an invoice for these issues and payment
information.
I really appreciate your patience. Sorry for so much back and forth, it's
just I've been burned quite a few times with dealers on E-bay and their poor
grading. But I think this is a good way to see if I'll be happy with the
condition of books you have. Also, reflecting on what you said in your last
e-mail, your right, anybody who has 9.8 books is going to send them to CGC.
As long as I get what I feel are great looking copies that are comprable in
condition with what I already have (which is 9.4 to 9.6), I'll be happy.
Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from you.
Matt Clark
Thanks for this fab letter, Matt and the order. I'm going to ask all customers who are new to Back Issue Comix to think about following Matt's idea of placing a sample order. We are selling only 9.4 and 9.6's Many of these have a tiny defect at the top or bottom of the spine and we have found that CGC will not give these a 9.8 grade. They do give these 9.4 and 9.6 grades. They also will not give a 9.8 if the comic has a printers wrinkle in the cover.
We are no longer selling comics that appear to be 9.8 and above as we are reserving these for certification. Use the column with the lower prices which are 1/3 to 2/3 off market values. RJ
